She was born 4/3/1935 in Louisville, MS to the late Percy Bryant Hathorn and Canzada Wade Triplett. She was little sister to Malissa Ann "Tut" Gordon. She graduated from Blue Mountain College and during her first year of teaching math at Bailey Jr High met her forever soulmate, the history teacher Jimmy Cotten. They married in 1958 and had two children, Joy and Bryant.
Jane had a fulfilling career teaching math at Central, Bailey, Chastain, Woodland Hills and MS School for the Blind. She was active at Woodland Hills Baptist Church and The Jackson Garden Club. She was heart broken over the loss of her beloved, Jimmy who died on November 22, less than two weeks ago.
She is survived by her two children, Joy (Larry) Roessel and their son, Lawrence; Bryant and his daughters, Jane Alexander Cotten and Krista (Russell) Lea and their daughter, Addison; many nieces and nephews and good friends.
