FAIRFIELD - Heaven gained an angel Dec. 1, 2016. Eleanor Althea Noel, went to be with Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. She was born June 8, 1929, in Mattawamkeag, to the late Roland and Lena Estes.
She was predeceased by her loving daughter Laurie, brother Hayden and sister Kathy.
Eleanor spent over 40 years as a hairdresser, telling stories and enjoying the company and friendship of her many customers. After retiring she spent her time with her true passion and that was spoiling and loving her many grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Eleanor was active in many organizations throughout the community. She made dolls at the Doll factory at Maine General Medical Center. Eleanor was very active in the Shawmut Chapel.This sweet lady will be missed by all. The love and respect she had for everyone set the example for all to live by.
Eleanor is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, John G. Noel; her children Jane Noel of Gloucester, Va., Scott Noel and his wife Carol of Belgrade and James Noel of Allentown, NH.; her grandchildren, Seth Poulin and his wife Jessica of Gloucester, Va., Melissa Buxton of Madison, Nicholas Buxton and his wife Jasmine of Waterville and Erica Kerr of Fairfield; her brother, David Estes and family of Harrisburg. Pa.; niece Mary Pooler and her husband Harold and family of Newport Richey, Fla.; as well as the sparkle of her eye, her great-grandchildren Jace Huard, Jenna Rodrique, Jaden Gagne, Jacob Poulin, Julianna Poulin, Devon Stewart and Zoie Stewart.
Burial at a later date in Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Rd., Augusta. Arrangements are under the care of Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville. An online guestbook may be signed and condolences expressed at www.gallantfh.com.
