She was born August 18, 1932 in Tellico Plains, TN, the daughter of James Willis Tucker and Louise Shaw Tucker.
Mrs. Bailey retired from Union Carbide Nuclear Corporation where she was a secretary at the K-25 plant.
In her free time, she enjoyed oil painting, volunteer work and flower gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Bailey; son, George Douglas Bailey; brother, Ralph Tucker and sisters, Della Raper and Beryl Bogdanowicz.
She is survived by son, James Gregory Bailey of Oak Ridge;
brother, James Harold Tucker and wife Sharyn of Redford, MI;
sisters, Grace Tabor of Gallipolis, OH and Lila Ramey of Knoxville, TN; God-son, Austin Sullivan and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family including her nurses and caretakers who were like family to her.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 6 - 8pm at Weatherford Mortuary. Family and friends will meet on Friday at 10am at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens for a graveside service. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, any memorials be in her name to a charity of the donor’s choice. An on-line guest book can be signed at www.weatherfordmortuary.com.
