MANTACHIE – Annis M. “Ann” Spencer Spurlin, 84, died Monday, Aug. 16, 2004, at the Tishomingo Community Living Center in Iuka. She was born Sept. 22, 1919, in Itawamba County. She formerly lived in Mantachie. She was a Baptist and had been a member of Sandy Springs Baptist Church since a very young age.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Ozark Baptist Church with Bro. Dempsey Roland officiating. Burial will be in the Ozark Cemetery. Waters Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include four daughters, Yvonne Johnston and Hollis of Helena, Ark., Jennette Forthman and Joe of Holly Grove, Ark., Barbara Nunley and Junior of Mantachie, and Billie Cantwell of Mantachie; a son, James Warren of Tupelo; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wes and Pearl Spencer; five brothers, Elton Spencer, Clifton Spencer, Royce Spencer, Prentiss Spencer and R.C. Spencer; and two sisters, Kay Addison and Bobbie Jean Johnson.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Ray Spencer, Mike Warren, Richard Whaley, Wesley Spencer, Cam Warren and Rickey Warren.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Upton, Denny Sloan, Randel Warren, John Lee Warren, her grandsons and her sons-in-law.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today at the church.
