LAWRENCE — Russell W. Anderson 89 of Lawrence, MA died Sunday, December 18, 2011 at the Methuen Health and Rehabilitation Center in Methuen, MA.
Born in East Providence, Rhode Island, he was the son of Oscar and Mary (Nelson) Anderson. During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy, he received the American Theater Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Theater Medal and was honorably discharged. He was employed at Fort Devens and also the Raytheon Company before retiring in 1976.
He enjoyed playing cards, music and especially spending time with his family. Russell was always complimented by others for the impeccable care and upkeep to his car. He leaves his wife of 63 years, Teresa J. (Michalski) Anderson of Lawrence, MA. He also is survived by his children, William R. Anderson and his wife Pauline of Methuen, MA, Joan M. Lacroix and her husband Arthur of Windham, NH and James W. Anderson and his wife Yvette of Seabrook, NH.
Grandchildren Heidi Chase, Heather Thompson, Mark Anderson, Laurie Martinchick, Karen Davis, Jason Lacroix and Keith and Danielle Anderson. great-grandchildren Colby, Cameron, Travis, Emelia, Jacob, Avery, Addison and Drew. Several nieces and nephews. Russell was predeceased by his two brothers Raymond and Harold and two sisters Gladys Meyer and Eleanor Houle.
