Mrs. Charles Holmes, wife of Chas. Holmes, died at her home 4 miles southeast of Aledo, Saturday, August 8, 1896, in the 29th year of her age. Deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. McCreight, of Aledo, and was united in marriage to Mr. Holmes in December, 1891. She was a member of the U. P. church at Sunbeam in early life but at her death she was a member of the Reynolds Baptist church. Funeral services were held at the U. P. church in Aledo, conducted by Rev. Brand, of the Alpho Baptist church, assisted by Rev. W. M. Story, and Rev. J. W. Johnston, and interment in Aledo cemetery.
