Wayne had been a machinist/repairman at Delphi before retiring in 1997. He had previously worked at Continental Steel in Kokomo.
He had served in the United States Navy during the Korean War from 1951 until 1955. He was a member of the Greentown Masonic Lodge, Kokomo Shrine Club, Scottish Rite and the Eastern Star.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Alexander; daughter, Debra Burkhart; sons, David (Michelle) Alexander and Ryan (April) Alexander; grandchildren, Justin Burkhart, Jade Alexander, Hayley Alexander, Nathaniel Alexander and Justin Martin; great-grandchildren, Madison Burkhart and Braydon Burkhart; sister, Joan Tew and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Richard; and brothers, Herbert, Elvin and John Alexander.
Funeral services for Mr. Alexander will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 E. Main St., Greentown. Dick Mosier will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Greenlawn Cemetery, Greentown, with military rites provided by Greentown American Legion Post 317. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home with a Masonic service at 7 p.
