David Allan Haven, 63, of Kennewick, died Nov. 28 in Kennewick.

He was born in Richland and was a lifelong Tri-City area resident.

He was a retired police officer with the Kennewick Police Department.

Mueller’s Tri-Cities Funeral Home, Kennewick, is in charge of arrangements.

Obituary for David A Haven
David A. Haven, 63 of Kennewick, passed away November 28, 2016. He was born in Richland, Washington and was a lifelong resident of the Tri-Cities.
He was a retired officer with the Kennewick Police Department.
Graveside services will be Friday, December 2, 2016, 11:30 a.m., at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 1401 S. Union Street., Kennewick. Memorial services will follow at 1:00 p.m., at Grace Baptist Church, corner of 10th Avenue and Union Street.

DAVID A. HAVEN David A. Haven passed away in Kennewick, Washington on November 28, 2016. He was born March 17, 1953 in Richland, Washington to Ronald & Beatrice Haven. He and his older brother Dale spent their childhood years in the Tri-Cities and David graduated from Kennewick High School in 1971. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force where he served in Okinawa and stateside as a Law Enforcement Specialist. During his time in the service, he married Beverly Collins. They had two children; Amy (Donald) Martin & Lindsay Haven. David went to work for the Kennewick Police Department after his Honorable Discharge from the Air Force. He worked tirelessly as a detective to get justice for his victims until his retirement. David will be remembered for his quick wit and dry sense of humor. He had a kind heart and was proud of his family. When his health would allow, he enjoyed watching his grandkids in their various sporting events. He loved the holidays and enjoyed shopping for others and would spoil his grandkids every year with a truckload of presents. David is survived by Beverly Haven, his daughter Amy (Donald) Martin, his brother Dale (Cathy) Haven, grandchildren Kaylee Leatherwood, Conner Martin & Kaetlynn Martin, mother in-law Shirley Collins & numerous nieces, nephews & friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ronald & Beatrice Haven, his daughter Lindsay Haven and father in-law Elmer Ray Collins. Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 11:30 am at Desert Lawn Memorial Park at 1401 S. Union Street in Kennewick WA. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm at Grace Baptist Church at 4403 W. 10th Avenue in Kennewick. A reception at Grace Baptist Church will follow all services. The family wishes to thank the special angels at The Hospice at the Chaplaincy in Kennewick who took care of David during his final weeks.
