DEATH OF JOHN IRVINE
Mr. John Irvine departed this life at home in the Concord neighborhood, October 13th, 1891. Death is a sad, solemn thing at any time, but more especially so when he enters suddenly the home circle and takes away the father and head of the family. He was taken with a congestive chill on Friday, another one on Sunday and the third on Tuesday, resulting in his death.
He was born February 19th, 1830, on the old farm where his father, Robert Irvine, settled in 1818. Age 61 years, 7 months and 24 days, he belonged to a family of seven children all of whom are death except Josephus, Jesse and A.J. Irvine. On the 19th day of March 1863 he was united in marriage to Mary Susan Royalty, daughter of Geo. Royalty, and this union was blessed with seven children, who survive him.
