Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn J. Money Hester, age 69, of Abbeville, will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Kent Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 30, from 6-8 p.m. Margaret Gibbs will officiate and burial will follow in Memory Garden Cemetery with Kent Funeral Home of Eufaula directing. Mrs. Hester died Thursday, July 26, 2018 at her nephews’ home in Eufaula after an extended battle with leukemia.
Born May 20, 1949 in Alabama, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Marvin and Eula Griggs Money. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ernie Hester, her sisters, Martha Jo Staples and Dorothy Cantrell and her brother, Raymond Money. Carolyn had lived in the Abbeville/ Eufaula area since 1984. She had worked as a sales associate for Walmart in Eufaula for 20 years, prior to that she worked as a dispatcher for the Simpsonville, SC. police department and as a nurse.
Survivors include a brother and sister in law, David and Barbara Money, Ft. Valley, GA. and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
