On August 23, 1936, at Lakeside, Ohio, John married his loving wife of over 60 years, Isabelle (Cahill) Goyer, who preceded him in death on May 15, 1997.
John worked as a real estate broker, the Marion Fire Department for 11 years, the State Highway Department, and for Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for whom he made numerous trips to Chicago and Detroit.
He was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church.
A very thoughtful man, John had a knack for making friends with everyone never meeting a stranger. His family, friends and many acquaintances will dearly miss him.
He will be missed by his son Steven (Maxine) Goyer of Bowling Green; two grandchildren, Steven Christopher (Carrie) Goyer, Kimberly Dawn (James) Minard; four great-grandchildren Todd, Brad, Sara, and Dana; and two brothers Wilmer Goyer of Arkansas, and Vernon Goyer of Marion.
In addition to his wife and parents, John was preceded in death by his sister Dorotha Goyer.
Age 92 years.
