Mr. Addison worked as a social worker/nursing home administrator at Whitten Center, was a partner in Home Petroleum, and a salesman for Data-Tec. He concluded his career as the Head Men’s Golf Coach at Presbyterian College. He was a four-time recipient of the South Atlantic Conference Head Coach of the Year award, and he also won a Regional Coach of the Year award.
He was a former member of the All Saints’ Episcopal vestry, a board member of Lakelands FCA, and a Laurens County FCA Men’s Huddle Group leader. He also had served on the boards of Lakeside Country Club and Musgrove Mill Golf Club.
Mr. Addison is survived by his wife, Kay Morrow Addison; his son, Thomas Eldred Addison III (Katherine) of Laurens, SC; his daughter, Turner Addison Morris (Ryan) of Sevierville, TN; his sister, Murray Addison Handback (Ned) of Peachtree City, GA; his sister, Mary Jane Heckard (Steve) of Rock Hill, SC; his four grandchildren, William Thomas Addison, Connor Ryan Addison, Jane Addison Morris, Jack Ryan Morris; and a beloved granddog Lincoln. He also had 3 nieces, 2 nephews, 8 great-nieces, and 2 great-nephews.
A celebration of Mr. Addison’s life will be held on Thursday, December 1, at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Clinton. The family will receive friends following the service.
