Vincent Rieger 71, Esmond, Died Sunday in a Grand Forks hospital. His funeral will be Friday at 10:30 a.m.in St. Boniface Catholic Church, Esmond, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, Esmond with a rosary at 8 p.m. in the Church. He was born Sept. 11, 1920 in Alexander Township, near Esmond to Balthasar and Magdalena Rieger. He was reared and educated near Esmond. He married May Johnson Nov. 10, 1941 in Esmond. Following their marriage, they farmed southwest of Esmond until his death. He was a member of the Alexander Township board, school board, Buffalo Lake Sportsmans Club, the school reorganization committee and served two terms in the N.D.Legislature. He was also a member of the Democratic party, Farmers union, the Harvey Eagles Club and the St. Boniface Church and choir. Survivors: wife, sons, Gary, Reno Nev. Roger, Browerville, MN, daughters, Bonnie Alexander, Cynthia Wilhelm, both Minot, Yvonne Westrom, Grand Forks.10 grandchildren, brothers Paul, Petaluma, CA.Jack, Devils Lake, Leo, Hoople, sister Lucille Hager, Esmond.
