Mr. Armstrong died Nov. 10, 1991 at North Shore Medical Center in Slidell, LA, following complications from a head injury he received May 28. He was born March 3, 1951, at Flandreau, SD, the son of William E and Betty (Fuller) Armstrong Sr.
He was raised and graduated from high school in Flandreau. He graduated from South Dakota Sate University in Brookings, SD, where he earned a degree in range management.
On Dec 22, 1973, he married Gloria Carstensen at Pipestone, MN. The couple farmed in Flandreau until 1982 when they moved to Weston county and ranched north of Newcastle. Two years later the family moved to a ranch south of Newcastle.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria, and two daughters, Bonnie and Angela, all of Newcastle; and his parents, Bill and Betty Armstrong Sr. and paternal grandmother, Mabel Armstrong, all of Flandreau. Also surviving are two brothers, Douglas and Kenneth of Flandreau; four sisters, Carol Pitts of Brookings, SD, Ann Brubaker of Tucson, Ariz., Elaine Flinders of Sutherland, Iowa and Janice Zephier of Brookings.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and paternal grandfather.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Worden Funeral Directors.
