Melvin B Asher, 63, of Bertram, Texas, passed away on November 22, 2016, in Burnet, Texas. Visitation will be from 8 to 10 a.m., Saturday, November 26, 2016, at the Edgar & Jenkins Family Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 10 a.m. with Rev. Gordon Bergstrom officiating. Burial will follow in Andice Cemetery, Andice, Texas.

B was born in Burnet County, Texas, to Leo Gamrell "Buck" and Leta Mae (Dick) Stewart Asher. He was raised in Joppa, Texas, and attended school in Bertram, graduated from Burnet High School and Southwest Texas State University with a degree in Business Administration. After college, B went on to work as an engineer last employed as an Application Engineer with Sulzer Pumps. He attended Joppa Church. He was an avid hang glider and was a member of the Hang Gliders Association. B was a giving and caring person, never judged anyone, and lit up rooms with his humor.

Survivors include his son, Madison Asher, of Katy; daughters, Logan Molloy, of Katy, and Amie Brewer, of Dallas; grandson, Jonah Brewer-Doll, of Dallas, and companion, Sharon Smykal, of Burnet, Texas; brothers, Jerrell Kauffman, of Burnet, Randy Kauffman, of Giddings, and Stewart Brizendine, of Texas City, Texas; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
