Marguerite Romero, age 89, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, was promoted to glory on Sunday, November 20, 2016.
Marguerite was known by her loving and welcoming nature and as a great hostess for family and friends who came to visit her home.
Marguerite was born in Roswell, NM on August 5, 1927 to Conrad and Ethel Gallegos, and lived most of her life in Albuquerque.
Marguerite was married to Efrain "Frank" Romero, a popular Albuquerque barber. After raising their two sons, they adopted, as infants, a son and daughter. Marguerite was a lifelong soldier in the Salvation Army, known for its charitable works.
Marguerite was predeceased by her loving husband, her daughter, Janell, her parents and her sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Ed Wycoff.
Marguerite is survived by her sons, Jeff (Evangeline), Efrain, Jr. (Jeanne) and Conrad Romero. Marguerite is also survived by her grandchildren, David (Von) Romero, Michael (Mary) Romero, Rebecca Jarvis (Brandon), Joseph, Nathaniel, Isaac, Rafael, Mary and Gloria Romero and Brandi and Jeremy Gallegos, her sister, Jean Hickman (Raymond) and numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.
The family wishes to give a special thanks to caregiver, Mary Cornell, Marguerite’s doctors, and the nurses and staff at the Rehabilitation Center of Albuquerque.
Services will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at French – Wyoming. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army Citadel Corps, 4301 Bryn Mawr Dr. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87107.
