Vera Marie McArtor, 97, of Jacksonville, died early Wednesday morning, November 8, 2006, at Jacksonville Convalescent Center. She was born April 27, 1909 in Mason the daughter of Solom Bert and Ella Fulton Shane. She married Harvey McArtor on March 31, 1932 and he preceded her in death on April 17, 1981. She is survived by one son, Jerry Lee (wife, Mary Ruth) McArtor of Jacksonville; one daughter, Wanda Jean (deceased husband, Glenn) Mayberry of Jacksonville; 5 grandchildren, Curtis (wife, Nancy) Mayberry of Jacksonville, Kim (husband, David) Cunningham of Louisiana, MO, Tracy (husband, Tom) Cody of Jacksonville; Joe Mayberry of Jacksonville and Gary McArtor of Littleton, CO and 7 great-grandchildren, Ian Cody, Jon Cody, Drew Cody, Christopher Cunningham, Nicholas Mayberry, Zachary Mayberry and Clinton Mayberry. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin Leroy Shane and Kenneth Shane. Mrs. McArtor was a member of Brooklyn United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her and will be missed. She enjoyed reading and camping and fishing with her husband. A graveside service will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday, November 9, 2006 at Diamond Grove Cemetery.
