Bertha M. Snay, 81, was the daughter of the late Francis and Florence LeClair Charette. She had resided in Cohoes for a number of years and later at VanSchoonhoven Apartments in Waterford. Bertha was retired from Our Lady of Hope Nursing Home in Latham. Prior to that she had been employed at St. Mary's Hospital and the former Highgate Nursing Home in Troy. She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Waterford.
She is the widow of Edward J. Snay, who died in 1987. She is mother of three; sister of Elaine Trombley of Chicopee, Mass., Royal Charette of Nevada, Lorraine Tatro of East Hampton, Mass. the late Leo, Morris and Raymond Charette and Veronica LeClair; also surviving are seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
