MANLY — Diane Gayle Hanson, 69, Corwith, formerly of Manly, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, surrounded by her family.
A funeral service for Diane will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 428 West Walnut Street, Manly, with Rev. Linda Johnson Prestholt officiating.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. on Friday at the Bride Colonial Chapel, 110 East Spring Street, Manly. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
Following the funeral service, cremation will be accorded with a private family inurnment at the Memorial Park Cemetery, 11495 265th Street, Mason City.
Diane Gayle Hanson was born on July 7, 1947, in Mason City, the daughter of Leo and Arlene (Anderson) Martie, oldest of five children. Diane was baptized and reaffirmed the faith of her baptism through confirmation at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Manly. Diane received her education in the Manly public schools, graduating from Manly High School in 1965.
Diane over the years worked for St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City, (now Mercy Medical Center), for various nursing homes in the North Iowa area and most recent for Duncan Heights in Duncan.
She was united in marriage to Henry Ehrhardt on June 26, 1967, in Manly, and to this marriage two children were born, Dawn and David.
She was united in marriage to Terry Hanson on Dec. 2, 1989, in Britt.
Diane enjoyed upholstering furniture, crocheting, and working in her yard, but her greatest love and enjoyment was her family, especially her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Dawn (Todd) Gayken of Britt and David (Jill) Ehrhardt of Northwood; two grandchildren, Keaton Gayken of Britt, and Ellie Ehrhardt of Northwood; loving companion, Dave Christensen of Corwith, and his family; her brother, Mark (Sherry) Martie of Manly; three sisters, Jane (Tom) Langerud of Forest City, Kay Martie of Forest City, and Barb (Mike) Reindl of Northwood; her favorite dog, Buddy; many nieces and nephews, and other extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Arlene Martie; her husband, Terry Hanson who died in 1998, and former husband Henry Ehrhardt who died in 2003.
