Mrs. Faye Burke, 89, of Glenstone Health Care, Boone, formerly of Hickory, N.C., died Friday, May 4, 2001, at Glenstone Health Care.
She was born in Watauga County, March 21, 1912. She was a homemaker and served as a nurse in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Suvivors include a daughter, Patti Bowers and husband, David, of Newland, N.C.; and two sisters, Mrs. Mona Norris of Advance, N.C., and Mrs. Mary Moretz of Clinton, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Burke.
Service were conducted Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. at Bass-Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery.
