Lou White, 57, of El Dorado, was a shining light for others until his death on Nov. 16, 2016.

Born Oct. 9, 1959 in Nashville, Tenn., he was the son of Knox and Judie White. Lou graduated from El Dorado High School in 1978 and attended North Texas State University where he was on the tennis team. Lou always loved playing tennis, especially with his “group” in El Dorado. He was also the best at working with flowers and loved planning out what he was going to plant, then watching them grow.

Lou spent his entire life working with people who had addiction problems that he well understood, because he fought them all of his life. The patients that he worked with adored him because they knew he truly cared about them. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Lou was a member of College Avenue Church of Christ.

Preceding him in death was his sister, Angie; his grandparents, Iris and L. K. White and Emma C. and Porter Rhea.

Survivors include his parents, Knox and Judie White of El Dorado; his son, Mick White of Rogers; his daughter, Ali Kyllingstad of Rogers; his brother, Kent White of Houston, Texas and a niece, Kaigan Angela White of Austin, Texas.

There will be a private graveside service in Arlington Memorial Park.

A reception for friends and family will be held from 11 a.m. t0 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23, at College Avenue Church of Christ.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to College Avenue Church of Christ Drug and Alcohol Recovery Program, 1817 North College Ave. El Dorado, AR 71730.

We will miss his kind and big heart.
