Michael "Mike" H. Parrish enlisted in Troop C, 2nd Battalion, Georgia Cavalry on 17 May 1862. On January 20th 1863 the 1st and 2nd Georgia Calvary consolidated forming the 5th Georgia Calvary. Troop C became Company E, 5th Georgia Cavalry. Michael was killed on 2 Oct 1864 in Action in Saltville, Virginia defending the Confederacy's salt and lead mines. Michael is buried in Saltville, Virginia along with the other Confederate Soldiers in graves marked with stones without names.
