Betty Anna Thorup Loveridge Our Loving Mother Betty Anna Thorup Loveridge, our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, passed away in her home surrounded by her daughters and husband January 19, 2005, from natural causes. Born January 12, 1924, in Salt Lake County, Utah, she was the seventh daughter of William Wilford Thorup and Esther Elizabeth Nordberg Thorup. She graduated from Granite High School and then worked at Standard Optical where she met and married Ralph Simpson Loveridge, June 7, 1943, in the Salt Lake Temple. She was preceded in death by her daughter LuJuana Jean Gibbons, son-in-law Clyde Ken Thacker and great-granddaughter Kourtney Ann Carlquist; her siblings, Wilma Svedin, Alice Forsberg, Thelma Schauerhamer Taylor, Marge Nielsen, Doris Nielsen, Herman C. Thorup, LuJuana Mae Thorup and Mark Nordberg Thorup. She is survived by her husband, Ralph, her children, Dale (Linda) Loveridge, Winnemucca, NV; Peggy (Lynn) Carlquist, Hazelton, ID; son-in-law, Stuart Gibbons, Salt Lake City; Patricia "Patsy" Thacker, Riverton; Dennis (Marsha) Loveridge, South Jordan; Kent (Vicky) Loveridge, Lehi; Robyn (Jamie) Gordon, West Jordan; Connie (Alan) Henderson, West Jordan; Sue (Jon) Shuppy, Francis, UT; 52 grandchildren and 52 great-grand-children with five more on the way; her sisters and brother, Lois Fowler, Melva Wright, William "Bill" Thorup, Geniel (Garn) Christensen, June (Dave) Evans and brother-in-laws Paulus Svedin and Stan Taylor. Mom suffered from arthritis and pain most of her life and has been confined to a wheelchair for many years. Her body was frail but her spirit was strong, she is now free from the pain of her mortal body. We will miss her so much but are grateful that she has finally been released and is with her parents and family members whom she so dearly loved. We know she has been welcomed into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 22 at 11:00 a.m. at the South Jordan 6th Ward, 2580 West 9800 South. Friends may call Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah and Saturday morning from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at the ward prior to the services. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
