James Albertson, Born near Kansas City, Kan., on Sept. 20, 1928.
He passed away in Fort Smith on Nov. 18, 2016. The son of Paul and Easter (Hughes) Albertson of Alma, Arkansas.
He was the fourth great-grandson of Crawford County pioneer, John Boyd. He was raised and went to school in Alma. In 1960 he traveled to Anchorage, Alaska, and started a roofing company which he grew into one of the largest in the state.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and lived the big Alaska life he loved until he retired to his home in Alma.
He is preceded in death by son, Thomas Albertson of Portland, Ore.; grandson, Jesse Baker of Claremore; sisters, Betty Shepard of Alma, June Blackwell of Fort Smith; and brother, Carroll of Alma.
He is survived by one sister, Paulna Jackson of Lodi, Calif.; his son, Michael Albertson and wife Donna of Alma; daughters, Ann Baker and husband Bob of Claremore and Mary Guffey and husband Mark of Tulsa; eight grandchildren, Cindy, Jim, Tim, Angel, Jenny, Thomas, Michael and Patrick; 15 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
