Selena was born in Tryon, NC on August 8, 1938. Selena graduated from High School and moved to Washington, DC to work for the FBI where she met her husband. After her children were born, she stayed at home to raise them. In 1979 she began working for the Fairfax City Police Department as a school crossing guard and retired in June 2014 after 35 years of service. Selena was a member of the Women of the Moose (Centreville Chapter 1674).
Selena is survived by her husband of 53 years, Harloe W. Brewster, her three loving daughters Vickie Brewster of Fairfax, VA, Sherri Railey (Merritt) of Warrenton, VA, Terri Kyle (Bob) of Haymarket, VA, a son, Randy Brewster; six grandchildren, Brian Brewster, Mackenzi Kyle, Merritt Railey, Bobby Kyle, Greyson Railey and Logan Railey; and a daughter-in-law, Vicki Schroeck (Frank). Selena is also survived by a sister, Marie Hartzog (Rex) of Goldsboro, NC and a brother, Charlie Wrightson (Wanda) of Plymouth, NC.
Visitation will be on Thursday, Nov 6 at Fairfax Memorial Funeral home, 9902 Braddock Road, Fairfax, VA from 5-8pm. Funeral service will be on Friday, Nov 7 at Park Valley Church, 4500 Waverly Farm Drive, Haymarket, VA at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Stonewall Memorial Gardens.
