Mark John Gessner
The son of the late Dominic and the late Anna (nee Altenhoven) Gessner, was Born to Eternal Life on November 19, 2016, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at age 91 years. Mark was preceded in death by his beloved wife Louise A. (nee Derra) Gessner and his son John Gessner. He is survived by his dear children, Mary (Daniel) Blattner, Joseph (Jacqueline) Gessner and Paul (very special friend Bonnie Best) Gessner; his cherished grandchildren, Audrey, Olivia and Callum Gessner; his sisters-in-law, Donna Derra, Arlene Derra and Joan Derra; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mark was also preceded in death by all of his siblings and their spouses, Margaret (Bert) Knepprath, Lucine (Alfred) Schinker, Mary Anne (Joseph) Baumann, Raymond (Margaret) Gessner and Norbert (Gertrude) Gessner; along with his in-laws and their spouses, Donald (Jean) Derra, Gordon (Rosie) Derra, Shirley (Jack) Helke, Rita (Kenneth) Marr, Tom Derra, Robert Derra and Richard Derra.
Mark was a proud World War II Army veteran who fought at the Battle of the Bulge, and worked as a clerk for the U.S. Post office for 31 years.
