Esther Opal Hunziker, 83, of San Bernardino died Saturday of respiratory failure at St. Bernardine Medical Center.

A native of Oklahoma, Hunziker lived in San Bernardino for 37 years. She was a psychiatric technician for 20 years at Patton State Hospital.

Survivors include a son, E. V. Jack Hunziker of Fontana; three daughters, Betty J. Davis of Redlands, Nellie Ruth Jennings of Tecumseh, Okla., and Quita Sue Wilson of Tempe, Ariz.; four sisters, Hazel White, Earlen Danford, Mable Lemmons and Anna Ratcliff; five brothers, Bern, Floyd, William, Kenneth, and Keith McDaniels; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. today at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino, with graveside services afterward at 1 p.m. at Montecito Memorial Park at Waterman Avenue and Barton Road in Colton.
