Joseph Michael Popivchak – age 58 – of Toronto passed away Sunday October 17, 2010 at the Trinity Medical Center – West, Steubenville, Ohio. He was born April 24, 1952 in Steubenville, Ohio, the son of the late Michael and Cecelia Grethel Kowalsky Popivchak. Joseph attended the New Somerset Christian Church; loved fishing; loved to be with his grandchildren and enjoyed going to the Mountaineer Race Track. He was a 1970 graduate of Toronto High School and was retired from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Co. – Follansbee Coke Plant. Joseph was preceded in death by: Parents, Brother Orvis Brand and Sister Shirley Stull. His survivors are: Wife: Kay (Flanagan-Payne) Popivchak whom he married April 26, 1978, Son: Shawn J. Flanagan and wife Samantha of Hookstown, Pennsylvania, Daughter: Ranae K. Cain and husband Travis of Toronto, Ohio, Brothers: Thurston Brand and wife Pearl of Toronto, Ohio Alton Brand and wife Joyce of Toronto, Sisters: Wonnona "Sis" Peckens and husband Robert of Toronto, Ohio, Irene Popivchak of Steubenville, Ohio, Sister-In-Law: Carol Brand of Toronto, Ohio, Grandchildren: Jonathan Edward David DeLong, Joel Michael Flanagan, Lacey Lynn Flanagan, Logan Joseph Cain, Andrew Michael Flanagan, Lindsay Ranae Cain, Sebastian Ryan Cain, Ayden Jacob Flanagan and Madilyn Raine Flanagan.
