He was married to Hedy Maureen Smith on February 10, 1968 in Omaha Nebraska. He was the father of Holy, Kerry, Laurie and Dennis Jr.
They lived in various areas before moving to Monroe, Iowa. He worked for the Maytag Company in Newton, Iowa for 20 years. He has resided in Grinnell for the past year.
