Mary Virginia Wilson, age 80, of Iberia, died Saturday, December 30, 2006, at the Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Tuscumbia on December 20, 1926, daughter of John and Macie (Fancher) Burks. She was married to Clarence Wilson, who preceded her in death on August 29, 1992. She was a member of the Iberia Assembly of God Church. Survivors include three sons, Dudley Brown of Sterlington, Louisiana, Robert Wilson of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Larry Wilson of Springfield; three daughters, Dolly Hall of Houstonia, Patsy Helton of Dixon, and Ollie Fay Wilson of Stoutland; 13 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Jewel Long, Pearl Murray, Fern Huddleston, Loretta Burks, and Gertrude Burks; and three brothers, Austin, Malachi, and Hasten Burks. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Gene Edwards will officiate. Interment will be in Jim Matt Lawson Cemetery near Meta.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
