Emerita Pasadilla Alisago, better known as "Emmy" to her former colleagues, and "Yiyit" to her family, was born in Nabua, Camarines Sur, Philippines to Magno Acbang Pasadilla and Francisca Ferandez Obrero. She entered eternal life on Oct. 30, in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Philippines.

Emerita grew up in Bicol along with her 11 siblings (six sisters and five brothers). In her younger years, Yiyit attended Colegio de Santaq Isabel from grade school through high school. From there, she attended Ateneo de Naga and graduated Cum Laude. She found her calling as an educator and taught high school at Maryknoll Academy in Lucena City, College at Aquinas University in Legazpi City, and high school at Nabua High School in Nabua.

Emerita and her husband "Vic" migrated to the United States, where another child, a son, was added to the growing family. Being a military wife with her husband out at sea, she decided to further her studies by attending the University of California, Davis, graduating with a Bachelors Degree, then obtaining a California teaching credential. Soon after, she enrolled at the University of San Francisco and graduated with a Masters in Education.

A resident of Vallejo, she taught at the Pennycook Elementary School in the early 1980s to early 1990s, as well as Joseph H. Wardlaw Elementary School from the 1990s to 2000. She was an active member of the Nabua Bay Area Club of Vallejo, before her illness.

Emerita is survived by her husband; daughter; son-in-law; mother, and all her siblings; nieces, and nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews, and all her friends.

Mass of Christian burial was held Nov. 14, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Vallejo. Burial followed at All Souls Cemetery, Vallejo, California.
