Roy was born the first of five children to Joseph Heber and Mary Alice (Bright) Albiston. He had three brothers and one sister. Roy married Iva Day on 14 June 1923 in Logan, Cache, Utah. They had one son and one daughter. Their son Roy Seth Albiston was killed in WWII at the age of 19.
