Former Oolitic resident, Wilda Sims, 83, R. 11, Bedford, died at 11:05 p.m. yesterday at Mitchell Manor. She was born April 1, 1900, in Greyhampton, Ky, to Henry and Mollie Shrewsbury Chenault. She married William Sims on April 24, 1917 and he preceded her in death on March 16, 1956. She retired from M. Fine & Sons on Dec. 19, 1982, after 52 years with the company. She was a member of the Williams Baptist Church and Bedford Chapter No. 129, Order of Eastern Star. Surviving are three sons: Norman W. "Poss" Sims, Bedford, Charles W. Sims, Indianapolis, and Henry E. Sims, Bradenton, Fla.; a brother, Wayne Chenault, Bloomington; eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers, four sisters and a granddaughter. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Howard Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary from 12-9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. Saturday until the service time.
