BURDEN, Douglas D.H. "Buddy" Burden, age 74 of Dallas, went to be with our Lord on November 6, 2016, while surrounded by family at home. A proud fourth generation Texan and Dallas native, Buddy was a graduate of Sunset High School in Oak Cliff and Southern Methodist University. He loved the Lord, his family and his work. Equally at home with the family at the lake house, in the boardroom or around a fire pit at the deer lease, Buddy was the first generation "off the farm" and a fantastic mix of simplicity and complexity. His faith, self-deprecating sense of humor and willingness to tackle any project rubbed off on those that knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife Bonnie Baird Burden of Dallas, sister Becky and her husband Jim Kauffman of Waxahachie, son Brian Burden and grandchildren Braxton, Hannah and Hadley of Aledo, son Brent Burden of Aledo, stepson Jason Jones of Austin, step-daughters Amy Scherer of Plano and Katy Jones of Dallas and step grandchildren Baylor and Wyatt Scherer of Plano and Ethan and Rhett Jones of Austin. His master replied, 'Well done good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share in your master's happiness!' Matthew 25:23 Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 10:30 AM in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
