Betty Ann (Buss) Brown was born to Lela Mae (Snider) and Elza "Jim" Buss November 17, 1928 at their home in Doby Springs, Oklahoma. Betty lived through some extraordinarily difficult times including the Great Depression, the Dirty Thirties and of course World War II. However, she was able to attend school through the eighth grade until she began waiting tables at several different cafes in Buffalo. At the end of the war Betty found her lifelong love and was united in marriage to Harry Brown on March 22, 1947. This union was blessed with two sons, Terry Edward in 1951 and Gary Jim in 1953. Betty and Harry made their home in May, Oklahoma where Harry operated the coop elevator and Betty worked as a nursing assistant at Newman Memorial Hospital in Shattuck, Oklahoma.

Betty lost Harry to heart disease on July 10, 1984. She then returned to work in Buffalo at the Harper County Community Hospital. She continued to work there until her home in May burned to the ground. At that point in time, Betty moved to her new home in Laverne where she lived until she was no longer able to care for herself. Betty then made her home in the Grace Living Center at Buffalo where she could be close to family and friends. She remained there until her passing on November 13, 2016.

Betty was preceded in death by Harry, her parents Jim and Lela Buss, and four siblings Elmer, Bill, Margie and Jimmy. She leaves behind a sister Jane Jackson and a brother Curt Buss. She also leaves her children Terry and wife Linda and Gary and wife Keneta; four grandchildren Chance and wife Kelly, Heather Stephens, Brad and wife Alishia and Kory and wife Sue; nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends
