Cecil was born at Grant, Virginia, to Colonel Adams and Leona Rutherford and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Campaign.

Surviving, daughter, Maebelle Adams of the home; son, Cecil Adams, Jr of the home; two grandchildren, Sumer Adams and Jordan Adams of the home; three sisters, Esther Cothin of Millington, MD, Wilma Fisher of Greensboro, NC and Wilma Ann and Dennie Reedy of Troutdale, VA; several nieces and nephews

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Saddle Creek Church, Independence, VA. Interment in the church cemetery. Rev. Bob Cheeks and Rev. Pete Phipps officiating.


Military rites will be conducted at graveside by Grayson County VFW Post 7726
