Martha Valerie Johnson, age 81, lovingly known as “Val” or “Sister” of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2016 with family by her side. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Curry-Welborn Funeral Home, visitation will be held at 10:00-11:00 A.M. prior to the service. Martha was born on August 1, 1935, in Talco TX, the daughter of Howard Grady Brown and Clara Faye Hall Brown. She was a waitress at Rick’s Restaurant and a member of the Baptist Faith, She is survived by her daughters Cindy Moss of Mt. Pleasant, and Pam White of Paris, her son, Greg Weaver and a sister Med Daniels and husband Dennis of Mt. Pleasant, six grandchildren; Riki Johnson and husband Jeff of Daingerfield TX., Morgan Moss and Fiancé Gary Wilson of Mt. Pleasant, Ryan White and wife Jennifer of Hendrix OK., Jody White of Paris TX., J.T. Parr and wife Whitney of Denton. Eleven Great-Grandchildren; Cori Johnson, Korden Johnson, Asa Johnson, Greyson Moss, Matthew White, Sora White, Ethan White, Simon White, Lincoln Parr, Landon Parr and Lena Parr, as well as several numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, James “Pic” Weaver, and L.C. Johnson, her brothers, Pete Brown, Duncan Brown, and Howard Junior Brown, her sisters; Francis “Frank” McFatridge and husband Charles, baby sister Opal Brown, a daughter Patti Fritz, son in-law Lee Fritz, grandson Michael Parr, and a son in-law Fred Moss.
