“Charles Everett Drummond, 74, died at 10:10 Saturday morning at the Chillicothe hospital, where he had been a patient for six days. He had been in failing health for a year and in serious condition for two weeks. He was a retired Missouri State Highway employee.

Born November 29, 1897, in Livingston County, he was the son of Charles Edward and Lyda Ann (Stoner) Drummond. Mr. Drummond had spent his lifetime in Livingston County and attended the Jack Snipe rural school. On December 20, 1922, he married Bonnie Ellen Cook at Chillicothe.

Survivors include the widow of 316 Martin; three sons, Charles E. Drummond and Roy W. Drummond of Chillicothe and Herbert W. Drummond of Seymour, Ind.; a daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Sue Welch of Omaha, Neb.; and ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ellen, a brother and two sisters.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o’clock at the chapel of the Norman Funeral Home. The Rev. Clifford Wrisinger officiated. Burial was in the Wheeling Cemetery.” The Chillicothe Constitution-Tribune, May 8, 1972
