INSTANTLY KILLED
Mr. R. S. Lunsford Struck by R.,F.&P.R.R. Train Near Widewater.
Mr. Robt. S. Lunsford was struck by a train near Widewater, on R.F.&P.R.R., in Stafford, Sunday and instantly killed. Mr. Lunsford had been in the employ of the R.F.&P.R.R. for a number of years and operated the pump near Widewater.
While walking along the track going to his work about 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon a freight train, approaching from the rear, struck him crushing his skull and causing instant death.
Mr. Lunsford was one of the most valued employees of the R.R. Co. and was highly respected by all who knew him. He was fifty years old and is survived by his wife, mother, one brother, three sisters.
The remains were taken to Prince William county Tuesday for interment in the family burying ground.
Note: Robert was an employee of the Richmond, Fredericksburg and Potomac Railroad Company. The "pump near Widewater" provided water to steam locomotives.
