Roy was born February 6, 1934 in Big Cabin, Oklahoma to parents Oliver and Annie (Halle) Irons. Roy married Jessie Mae Little on September 15, 1951. Jessie preceded him in death on April 3, 2008. Roy is survived by six grandchildren, Christopher Irons, Bryan Irons, Steven Irons, Ashlee Sampson, Amanda Irons and Kelsey Winnie; three great grandchildren, KiamBra Irons, Hailey Irons and Aysha Crabtree; daughter-in-law's, Melody Irons [now deceased] of Delaware, Oklahoma and Sherry Irons of Adair, Oklahoma; brother Bill Irons and wife Rita of Big Cabin, Oklahoma and sister-in-law Hazel Irons of Sulpher, Oklahoma. Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie; 3 sons, Ray Lee, Jerry Wayne and Arthur Ray "Buddy" Irons; and a brother, Jack Irons.
Roy fancied himself as somewhat of a preacher. He was 'ordained' by the House Of Prayer in Enid, Oklahoma. He served on the church board of Childers Full Gospel Church, east of Delaware, for a while.
