HELWIG, Jonathan Hunter "Jon Boy," 20, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 27, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. Jon Boy was a fun loving free spirit who never complained, but brought laughter to many. He is survived by his mother, Kim Helwig; father, David Helwig; sisters, Jackie Leigh Helwig Miller (Matt), Julianna and Josie Helwig; brothers, Jacob Helwig (Megan) and Jeremy Helwig; several aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents; and girlfriend, Brittany Parsons. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Road, Mechanicsville. A memorial service will be conducted Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Mechanicsville Christian Center. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Solid Ground Ministries, 657 Riverdale Rd., Tappahannock, Va. 22560 or to Effective Ministries, 2550 Gaskins Rd., Henrico, Va. 23238.
