"Mr. John Rhodes, aged 73 years and 4 months, died on last Monday of a complication of diseases. The deceased was a resident of Frankstown township. He was a widower, his wife having died many years ago. Mr. Rhodes was a civil war veteran. The immediate survivors are one brother and four sisters: Mr. Samuel Rhodes of Frankstown, Mrs. Richard Mitchell of Ligonier, Mrs. Samuel Koon of Scotch Valley, Mrs. Rachel Keller of Bellwood and Mrs. Barbara Weaver of Gaysport. The funeral cortege will leave the home of Samuel Rhodes, in Frankstown, on Thursday morning at 9 o'clock and the service will be held in the Newry Lutheran Church. Interment will be made in the Newry cemetery."
