She was born June 12, 1939 in Landes, WV and was the daughter of the late Victor Clyde and Joy Bell (Alt) Alt.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Stanley Edwin Alt, Victor Ralph Alt, Forrest Allen Alt, Clifton Randall Alt; two sisters, Mary Susan Alt Bergdall and Beverly Geraldine Alt Bowers.
Ms. Calhoun was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Ms. Calhoun was a retired Dietary Aide at Grant Memorial Hospital.
She was a member of Gordan Chapel United Methodist Church and attended Grove Street United Methodist Church.
Betty Jo is survived by two daughters, Beth Wolfe of Simpsonville, SC and Becky Harman and husband Brent Harman of Lahmansville, WV; six grandchildren, Amber Wolfe, Evan Harman, Joseph Wolfe, Lauren Harman, Allison Harman and Megan Wolfe.
Also several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Friday, November 11, 2016 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Grove Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry A. Hakes officiating.
Interment will follow in the Lahmansville Cemetery.
