Obituary of Carrie Larsen

Funeral services were held today (Thursday) for Carrie Tina Larsen who died Feb. 3, 1975 at the Valley County Hospital. She was 90.

Rev. Ron Roemmich officiated at the 2:00 pm rites at the Ord Memorial Chapel. Burial was in the Ord City Cemetery.

Carrie Tina Larsen was born October 25, 1884 at Grinnell, IA, the daughter of Nels and JoAnne Marie Andersen Larsen. At an early age she moved with the family to Adams County and came to Valley County in 1903, where the family made their home on a farm in the Olean Community. Shortly thereafter her mother became seriously ill and she cared for her in her lengthy illness. After her mother's death she fostered and made a home for her niece who is now Mrs. Alice Babka, whose mother died when she was eleven months of age. Moving to Ord in 1915 she occupied herself by being an excellent seamstress as well as giving of herself to those who were in need.

Survivors include one step-sister, Mrs. Carolyn Ball of Ord; two nieces, Mrs. Alice Babka of Lincoln and Mrs. Aileen Timmerman of Burwell, three nephews, Clarence, Gerald and Eldon Larsen of Burwell. Preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers.
