"Sicsapehue" (no surname) was born at Chumash ranchería Tequeps in what is now Santa Barbara County, California. She had at least two children by her first husband (name not recorded) prior to her baptism. She assumed her Christian name Ignacia María upon her baptism at Mission Santa Barbara on March 15, 1804 (SB Baptism 02957). She married (2) neophyte "Tatehuít" (Juan Capistrano) at Mission Santa Barbara on November 27, 1806 (SB Marriage 00820). Ignacia died at Tequeps and her remains were brought to Mission Santa Barbara where she was buried in the mission cemetery on March 10, 1808 (SB Death 01656).
