Obit - John J. Cornell died at 4:30 o'clock yesterday morning at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William H. Cornell, just east of Buck Creek. Mr. Cornell was a telegraph operator and his death was caused by paralysis. The first attack came four years ago while he was seated in a chair in his office in Lime,O. It unfitted him for work and he came home to live with his parents. The fatal attack came Wednesday morning and he was unconscious from that time until his death. He was 39 years old and was unmarried. He was born and reared at Buck Creek and learned telegraphy in the Wabash office at that point. He was a man of unusual ability, one of the best operators in the railroad business and did not remain at Buck Creek long. He held positions in the Pol street depot in Chicago, at Chicago Heights and other places, and was acting as train dispatcher at Lima when he was stricken by paralysis. He was a nephew of Dr. W.W.C. Brown of this city and leaves his parents and one brother, W.R. Cornell, of Branton, Mich. The deceased was a man of good character, pleasant address, genial manners and had a host of friends. The funeral will be conducted on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Services will be held in the U.B. church in Buck Creek, Dr. L.C. Buckles, of Dayton, and Rev. S.O. Goodrich, of Colburn, will officiate. The interment wil be made in Hollywood cemetery.
