Born in Spartanburg, S.C. she was the daughter of Virgil Fowler and Vetie Knight Fowler.
Surviving is a son, Bobby Smiley Jr. and wife, Lisa of Gaffney; two daughters, Diana Peterson and husband, Bill of Cowpens, S.C. and Donna Smiley and husband, Keith Sisk of Spartanburg; a sister, Shirley Brown of Tampa, Fl.; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and special recognition to her granddaughter and caregiver, Angie and Eric Guest.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Wayne Smiley; and three sisters, Carolyn Bright, Evelyn Parks and Vivian Watson.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7, 2016 at Blakely Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016 at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Stuart A. Kersey officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Gentiva Hospice, 430 Roper Mountain Road, Greenville, S.C., 29615.
The family will be at the home of Diana and Bill Peterson, 110 Crystal Lane.
