Jacob Yerian or Yearian was the son of Frederick Yerian and his 2nd wife, Elizabeth. He was baptized Lutheran June 17, 1798, in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, sponsors Jacob and Barbara Laut.
He married 1819 in Muskingum County, Ohio, to Jane Vernon, daughter of Joseph Sr. and Sarah Vernon. She was born October 14, 1795, in Pennsylvania and died August 21, 1855, in Jackson County, Ohio.
Jacob drowned in the Muskingum River, and his widow and children moved to Jackson County, Ohio, where they lived near Jacob's brother Daniel and his family.
