Pearl Elmina Coker, the only daughter of James Joseph Coker and Mary Louisiana Frances Duke Coker, eloped to marry Thomas Earl Tarr on March 23 1913, at the home of J. A. Howard, a Deacon of the Church of Christ, at Capps Corner, Montague Co TX. He performed the ceremony while they sat in the buggy.

They celebrated their Golden (50th) Wedding Anniversity March 23, 1963 in their home on Mills st., Bowie Texas.
Pearl Coker Tarr died in a nursing home in Vernon Texas.
He died in Dec. 17, 1969.
Her survivors were two living half sisters, four sons , two daughters, thirteen grandchildren,and sixteen great grandchildren who mourn her passing.
She was a very Christian woman, she loved all of her large family which included in the beginning 19 borthers and sisters , some were half and some were step but in her family it made no difference, they loved one another with unconditional Love.
