Betty J. Bevins, 74, of Logan, widow of Elbert Carter Bevins, died Saturday in Guyan Valley Hospital. She was born on March 9, 1925 in Logan, WV to Jim and Florence (Nelson) Lowe who precede her in death. She married Elbert Carter Bevins on June 11, 1949 in Ashland, Ky. They enjoyed 42 years together before his death on August 30 1991.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Ann Bevins of Chapmanville one sister, Carrie Porter of Logan and two brothers, Max Lowe of Barboursville and Jimmie Lowe of Chillicothe, Ohio. Funeral 2 p.m. today at First Christian Church of Logan burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill. Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at the church. Honaker Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
